Support to the foreign and Brazilian journalists during The World Social Forum (FSM) in Belém

The Secretary of Communication of the State of Pará (SECOM) offers to all the journalists - Brazilian and foreign - that will be covering the World Social Forum in Belém, from January 27 to February 1, the Press Support Service (SAI). It is a service of specialized journalists who will help the press professionals interested in developing other guidelines in Pará, outside the Forum.

SAI will have three offices, working in the center of Belém, in the Federal University of Pará and in the Amazon Agricultural Federal University. Each unity is provided with journalists fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English languages, whose task is to help the visiting professionals of the press in the accomplishment of contacts, attainment of interviews and elaboration of guidelines. The Service also elaborated 12 guidelines on important subjects (environment, digital inclusion, aboriginal education etc) which can serve as orientation to the visitors. These guidelines were previously sent to the editors, so the journalists could have some initial ideas of the extra-Forum work. The guidelines will be followed by images (photos and videos) in high definition, as well as of the contacts to the execution of the works.

The journalists who visit the SAI’s offices can receive a kit with an institutional video from Pará, 12 guidelines in three languages, a CD with photos and videos in high definition and maps of Belém and Pará. The SAI’s professionals will also be qualified to make contacts with government, social, economic and communitarian sectors in Pará in order to facilitate the work of the reporters. At the three offices of SAI, the visitor will also be able to access the Internet, read periodicals and meets other colleagues. All with the traditional sympathy of Pará.
